In December, 2011 Cagayan de Oro was hit by Typhoon Washi. All Hands Volunteers (AHV) responded immediately to help with disaster relief and is building homes on high ground, keeping together communities and employing local people. Volunteers are working tirelessly to get residents back into homes.
All Hands Volunteers is dedicated to assisting disaster-affected communities by empowering volunteers. AHV is working hard in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines to build new homes for victims of Typhoon Washi. This project hires skilled local workers for the technical aspect and donated volunteer labor for the rest. Volunteers are the backbone of the job!
The $2,500 award All Hands can win with your vote will fund 125 volunteer days ($2,500/$20/day). The $20 covers the logistical cost of volunteer labor. Each volunteer works 7 hours/day, and the value of each hour of labor is $18.04, you get $126.28 worth of work out of each $20! So, the multiplier benefit of the initial $2,500 is $15,785! That’s a LOT of GOOD coming from winning this award
