The Idea
75% of Haitian kids do not have School Books. Ayiti Now Corp assist orphans, restavek and kids under extreme poverty with School Books. We provide School Books for the primary and secondary education to orphanages and schools in rural areas. Each School Book serves new students year after year.
The Specifics
With $2,500 Ayiti Now Corp will be able to purchase 1000 School Books. In association with the principal and teachers of each school, Ayiti Now Corp compiles a list of the School Books needed and directly purchases the materials in Port Au Prince, Haiti. The materials are then delivered directly to the children ensuring proper distribution and ensuring Ayiti Now Corp’s ability to properly monitor the materials. A detailed database inventory of each School Book and each recipient is kept and monitored by Ayiti Now Corp on an ongoing basis. All School Books will be retrieved and redistributed to new students each school year. The value provided by the School Book Bank is everlasting. I have had to teach in classrooms without enough books..in the US...so I know what it is like. I also had to teach World Geography with 30 year old world maps and it doesn't work too well. Without books it is very difficult to teach. That you for developing this program.
We used to arrange for books to be delivered to a small town in Siberia, near Alaska, once it was possible. The teachers wanted English books for children and we all worked together to do it. Education for ALL children of the world is a necessity!

we love this project, I remember copying all the pages manually and going to friends to study but when I could not copy or go to friends I was not able to do home work.... this is a good program
