Our newest project focuses not only on the creation of a poultry farm to create jobs for rural farming families, but will also provide for the first time, a nutritious breakfast program for school children while strengthening the local economy.
The creation of the Haitian Pride Poultry Farm goes beyond the basic mission of the iF Foundation, to create jobs in the developing world. This project will not only employ local community leaders but it will also feed the 300 children of St. Joseph’s school in northern Haiti. These students often arrive at school with an empty stomach because their families spend all their income to send their child to school. With the creation of the poultry farm we will provide these children with the most important meal of the day. With this funding we will be able to purchase 300 hens and enough feed to last 20 weeks in order to begin production and ensure that 300 children are no longer deprived of a nutritious breakfast.
