The Idea

NCYLS cultivates youth leadership potential to inspire positive social change. By engaging youth and developing their leadership skills with a focus on service, we feed the need for talented leadership in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to create the world in which we wish to live.

The Specifics

NCYLS offers FREE high-impact leadership training to high school sophomores in Northern California. We are eager to expand our outreach & offer more students the opportunity to realize their true potential by giving them the tools to create lasting change in their communities.

There are many leadership opportunities for students throughout California & the nation, but few are free. Not only would we use additional financial resources to proactively recruit underserved populations, but we seek to provide funded transportation for students who live prohibitively far from the seminar location to attend. An increase in student participants will increase the ripple effect of these changemakers’ service within California & throughout the world.
